Silkroad.lgbt is more than a store—it’s a platform dedicated to amplifying the voices, stories, and artistry of LGBTQ+ Asians. Inspired by the historical Silk Road, a crossroads of culture and commerce, we aim to create a space where queer identity and Asian heritage intersect, flourish, and inspire.
Our Mission
At Silkroad.lgbt, our mission is to "Connect, Exchange, and Inspire Queer Chinese+ Communities" Created by queer Chinese ourselves original as a way to raise funds for international performance of Beijing Queer Chorus. The idea of Silkroad quickly grows to celebrate diversity, foster inclusivity, and provide representation for the LGBTQ+ Asian community under a mosaic of projects, groups and individuals called #silkpride. We believe in the power of storytelling, art, and cultural pride to bridge gaps, empower individuals, and create meaningful connections. Every product and initiative reflects this purpose, celebrating the resilience, creativity, and beauty of our community.
What is at stake?
Representation matters, especially for communities that have long been underrepresented or misunderstood. Silkroad.lgbt exists to fill that gap other than the only handful of rainbow pandas and dragons currently available online, providing a platform where LGBTQ+ Asians can see their identities celebrated and embraced. By sharing art, design, and culture, we aim to foster understanding and pride while challenging stereotypes and promoting visibility.
